Looking to learn how to knit or brush up on the basics? Join us for this intimate two-part knitting workshop designed to give you a solid foundation and confidence with your needles. With just four students per class, you’ll get plenty of one-on-one support as you learn and practice.
Class 1 (2 hours):
Learn the knit stitch in english style knitting
Introduction to the long tail cast-on method
Get started with circular needles
Build comfort with yarn and needle handling
Class 2 (2 hours):
Review and practice the long tail cast-on
Learn the purl stitch
Finish with an in-pattern bind-off
By the end of the series, you’ll have the skills to cast on, knit, purl, and finish your own beginner projects. Whether you’re brand new or haven’t picked up needles in years, this class will get you started (or restarted!) with confidence.
Required Materials - Start Building Your Knitting Kit!
Circular Needles US Size 11 or 13 with a 12"-16” cable
1 ball or cake of Bulky or Super Bulky yarn (if skein or hank, wind into a ball or cake before class)
Needle stoppers (that fit US Size 11 or 13 needles)
Optional: Stitch markers (that fit US Size 11 or larger circumference)
Optional: Scissors
Optional: Tapestry needle (with wide enough eye to thread Bulky or Super Bulky yarn)
Optional: Knitting kit bag to hold your knitting supplies
