Get ready for ski season and put your unique stamp on your winter wardrobe by knitting your very own hat! In this two-part class, you’ll learn the basics of knitting in the round, shaping a hat, and finishing it off with a handmade pompom. Perfect for holiday gifting (or keeping for yourself)!

Class 1:

• Cast on and get started

• Knit the brim

• Begin working the body of the hat

Class 2:

• Finish knitting the body

• Learn how to taper the top

• Make your own pompom

By the end of this workshop, you’ll have the skills (and the hat!) to keep cozy all season long.

Materials List:

• Circular Needles US Size 11 or 13 with 12”-16” cable 

• 1 ball (or cake) of Bulky or Super Bulky yarn (if skein or hank, wind into a ball or cake before class) -note: Mystic has a ball winder and we are happy to wind your yarn for a fee! Reach out to us if you would like this.

• Needle stoppers (that fit US Size 11 or 13 needles)

• Stitch markers (that fit US Size 11 or larger circumference)

• Tapestry needle (with wide enough eye to thread Bulky or Super Bulky yarn)

• Scissors 

• Optional: Knitting kit bag to hold your knitting supplies
